Active shooter incidents can occur in outdoor environments such as concert venues, festivals, parks, and other public spaces. Knowing how to respond quickly can improve your chances of staying safe during a dangerous situation. This safety lesson covers recognizing potential threats, identifying escape routes, moving away from danger, finding appropriate cover or concealment when escape is not possible, and defending yourself only as a last resort. Employees will also learn the importance of staying aware of their surroundings, contacting emergency services when safe, following law enforcement instructions, and responding appropriately after the immediate threat has passed.
